Privacy Policy

What we collect

Toomi collects the minimum data needed to provide the service:

• Account info: Phone number (for authentication via OTP), display name
• Messages: Text, images, voice notes, and other content you share in groups
• Group data: Group names, member lists, settings
• Device info: Push notification tokens, device type (for delivering notifications)
• Location: Only when you explicitly share it in a chat — never tracked in the background

How messages work

Group messages are encrypted using AES-256-GCM. Each group has its own encryption key. Your messages are stored encrypted in our database. Toomi (the AI) can read your group's messages to participate in conversations, remember context, and use tools on your behalf. No human at Toomi reads your messages.

Private conversations

Private conversations with Toomi within a group are visible only to you and Toomi. Group admins cannot see the content of your private conversations. We collect anonymous aggregate statistics (total private chats, not per-user) for admin analytics.

AI processing

Your messages are processed by AI language models (currently Claude by Anthropic) to generate Toomi's responses, create artifacts, extract memories, and provide tools. We do not use your conversations to train AI models. Conversations are processed in real-time and not stored by the AI provider beyond what's needed for the response.

What we don't do

• We don't sell your data
• We don't show ads
• We don't track you across apps
• We don't share your data with third parties for marketing
• We don't use your messages to train AI models

Data storage

Your data is stored on servers in the EU (Supabase, AWS Ireland). We retain your data as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time.

You can request a copy of your data, request deletion of your account and data, or ask questions about our data practices by contacting us at privacy@toomi.chat.

Changes

We may update this policy. We'll notify you of significant changes through the app.
